Yoga classes in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire
In person yoga follows current COVID-19 guidance.
I run a range of yoga classes for different levels of exertion and experience, including some that make a great choice for those with health conditions. All classes are described below, so you can decide what seems like a good fit for you.
Yoga Well classes take place in central Cheltenham or online.
You can click here to see the timetable and book a class. (Click on any class and a description will pop up.)
New to yoga?
There’s no need to commit to a term as our yoga pass options permit a single session. You may prefer to start with a private session to get a sense of class content, and become familiar with some basic yoga poses.
Have a look at the class descriptions below, and if you have any questions, just get in touch to have a chat.
Booking a Class & Buying a Pass
Most classes are booked via Yoga Well's booking system. If Ruth teaches at a studio, these classes are also in the timetable, but will need to be booked directly with the studio. All links are provided to take you where you need to go to book your class. Generally, your choice is to pay for a single session or to buy a pass for multiple classes (usually 6) to be used within a time frame so check the expiry date when you purchase.

CHAIR YOGA
I’ve designed these classes to enhance your strength, stability, and range of motion but also to develop skills that support a sense of ease and calm. We keep it light-hearted but there is plenty of opportunity to challenge yourself. All are welcome to chair based classes which include optional standing and floor work. It can be a nice choice for people living with health conditions such as Parkinson’s, Multiple Sclerosis, or ME, as through the class there is guidance to help you adapt your practice as appropriate for you. Whether you’ve practiced yoga in the past or you’re an absolute beginner, this yoga class offers a friendly environment in which to develop your strength, balance, focus, and ability to relax. Pass options include a single session or a discounted block of 6 classes to use within 8 weeks. Mondays from 11:00am to 12:00pm- choose whether to attend in person or online. Click here for Yoga Well's Booking System. Note: This class appears twice in the timetable, depending on whether you choose to book an in person space or attend online via Zoom. In person spaces are limited and drop-ins are not permitted at this time. So pre-booking is essential. FLOW VINYASA - ZOOM ONLY
This class includes more energetic linked sequences, faster transitions, and content to keep you challenged. Movement is linked with breath, and a sense of play and discovery is encouraged. The benefits of your practice have time to "marinate" with a guided relaxation and a concluding breath practice. You will get the most from this class if you have some yoga experience but options are offered to enable you to pace yourself and work within your limits. Ruth continues to keep an eye on zoom students, and offers individual guidance and practice suggestions through the class. So be sure to let her see you! Pass options include a single session or a discounted block of 6 classes to use within 8 weeks. Online Mondays from 5:45pm to 7:00pm. Click here for Yoga Well's Booking System. Note: This class is currently Zoom only. Practice in the comfort of your own space, along with your fellow zoomers. |
GENTLE YOGA
There are times when your body and mind need extra attention on how much effort feels right, and when to rest. This is a skill. Whether recovering from or living with injury, illness, or a health condition, or you simply want to give yourself a more gentle yoga practice, this class aims to boost your well being and help with energy and focus. Practices are chosen to enhance your strength, stability, and range of motion but also to instil a sense of ease and calm. You will be shown how to use props or chairs to better direct effort where it is needed and help release it where it is not. All are welcome. Pass options are via Orange Yoga. HATHA YOGA (MORNING OR EVENING)
Hatha gives a full body practice with choices on offer to help you find the right level of effort. The pace is slower than a flow class, with fewer up and down transitions. This does not necessarily make the practice less challenging, just different. Morning class focus- Movement and breath help you awaken the body and focus the mind, ready to get on with your day. Evening class focus- Support better rest and ease with practices to help you let go of your day, and shed accumulated tension in body and mind. Pass options include a single session or a discounted block of 6 classes to use within 8 weeks. Evenings: Wednesdays 6:15pm to 7:15pm. Mornings: Thursdays 9:30am to 10:30am Choose whether to attend in person or online. Click here for Yoga Well's Booking System. Note: These classes appear twice in the timetable, depending on whether you choose to book an in person space or attend online via Zoom.
