What does private yoga therapy involve?
Yoga therapy sessions are tailored to your condition or injury and your goals. They cover work on your body, breath, mind and emotions, or a combination of all four elements. They use and adapt many tools that are offered by regular yoga classes, including posture work, breathing, awareness, meditation, and relaxation. Positive affirmations and guided reflection help to incorporate yoga philosophy into the therapeutic process, and regular yoga practice into your daily routine. |
Is yoga therapy right for me?
I work with clients with a range of conditions, injuries and illnesses, from cancer patients to those with back pain, shoulder injuries, joint pain, fibromyalgia, stress and anxiety. Illness and injury can affect your emotions, stress levels, breathing and posture, and it’s often possible to improve one element by making simple changes to another. If you’re considering yoga therapy, let’s talk. |
What can I expect from yoga therapy sessions?
We start with an introductory session in which we’ll discuss your aims, goals and priorities, together with where you are now and where you want to be. I’ll then create a tailored yoga therapy treatment plan to help you achieve your goals. Your practice plan is unique to you and may include physical exercises, breath practice or visualisation that you can safely do at home – all with clear, simple instructions – to maximise the benefits of yoga therapy between classes. Yoga therapy sessions give you vital time to reflect and observe what your body needs, and the clarity and tools to nourish and empower yourself towards a better state of wellness. |
